Who is the PowerBlock EXP Stage 2 best suited for?

This expansion kit is best for those who own the PowerBlock Stage 1 and are looking to increase their weight from 50 lbs to 70 lbs. Adding more weight opens up heavier options for compound lifts like presses, rows, squats, and lunges, and helps prevent plateaus by giving lifters a wider weight range.

Can I purchase the PowerBlock EXP Stage 1?

No. The PowerBlock EXP Stage 1 has been discontinued since 2024. We do still carry the expansion kits.

Do the PowerBlock EXP Stage 1 set have to be purchased in order to use the PowerBlock EXP Stage 2 kit?

Yes. The PowerBlock EXP Stage 1 would need to be owned or purchased before the PowerBlock EXP Stage 2 kit will work.

Does the PowerBlock EXP Stage 2 kit work with the Sport EXP Stage 1 set?

Yes. Although the Sport EXP and PowerBlock EXP are different colors, their expansion kits are compatible.

Does the PowerBlock EXP Stage 2 need to be purchased in order to use the PowerBlock EXP Stage 3 kit?

Yes. The PowerBlock EXP Stage 2 would need to be owned or purchased before the PowerBlock EXP Stage 3 kit would work.

Does the PowerBlock EXP Stage 2 work with the PowerBlock 50?

No. The PowerBlock 50 is the non-expandable version of the PowerBlock EXP Stage 1 and does not have the required handle slots for expansion plates, meaning the PowerBlock EXP Stage 2 plates cannot be attached.

Does the PowerBlock EXP Stage 2 or 3 work with the Sport 24?

No. The Sport 24 is non‑expandable and does not have the slots left on the handle that are required for expansion plates, meaning the Stage 2 and 3 plates cannot be attached.

Are expansion kits sold in pairs?

Yes. When an expansion kit is purchased, there are enough weight plates included to expand both dumbbells.
