What’s the benefit of the Pro EXP Stage 2 Expansion Kit?

Adding Stage 2 expands your Pro EXP dumbbells from 50 lbs to 70 lbs per hand, giving you heavier options as your strength increases. It’s ideal if you’re outgrowing the 50 lb range and want more room to progress on compound lifts like presses, rows, squats, and lunges. Expanding your set in steps lets you increase weights as you get stronger without replacing your dumbbells.

Can I purchase the Pro EXP Stage 1 Adjustable Dumbbell?

No. The Pro EXP Stage 1 Adjustable Dumbbell has been discontinued since 2024.

Does the Pro EXP Stage 2 work with the Pro 50?

No. The Pro 50 is the non-expandable version of the Pro EXP and does not have the required handle slots for expansion plates.

Does the Pro EXP Stage 2 work with the discontinued U90 Urethane set?

Yes. The Pro EXP Stage 2 kit is compatible with the U90.

Does the Pro EXP Stage 2 work with the discontinued U70 Urethane set?

No. The Pro EXP Stage 2 kit will not work with the U70 set.

Does the Pro EXP Stage 2 work with the discontinued U50 Urethane set?

No. The Pro EXP Stage 2 kit will not work with the U50. The U50 is a non-expandable model.

Does the Pro EXP Stage 2 work with the Pro 100 EXP Stage 1?

No. The Pro 100 EXP set is a different model with it's own set of expansions.

Does the Pro EXP Stage 2 kit work with the Pro Rexan set from the 90s?

No. The Pro EXP and the Pro Rexan are completely different sets. The Pro Rexan has been discontinued since 2010.

Is the Pro EXP Stage 1 or U90 Stage 1 required in order to use the Pro EXP Stage 2?

Yes. The Pro EXP Stage 2 requires the Pro EXP Stage 1 or U90 Stage 1 because Stage 1 provides the base handle and weight stack that Stage 2 expands on.

Is the Pro EXP Stage 2 kit required in order to use the Pro EXP Stage 3?

Yes. The Pro EXP Stage 3 requires Stage 2 because Stage 2 provides the expanded weight stack that Stage 3 builds on.

Are expansion kits sold in pairs?

Yes. When an expansion kit is purchased, there are enough weight plates included to expand both dumbbells.
